  • Georgia: Atlanta was placed under its first-ever Flash Flood Emergency. Over 9 inches of rain fell in the city, leading to widespread flooding, water rescues, and significant road damage. There have been several fatalities and reports of residents being trapped due to rising waters(FOX Weather)(FOX Weather).

  • North Carolina: Western parts of the state, including Boone, have been severely impacted, with cars submerged and trees down. The Lake Lure Dam faced potential failure but remains intact for now. Rainfall totals in some areas have reached 15-25 inches(WFMY News 2)(FOX Weather).
